I have recently completed my Open Water Course in Hurghada and now want to book a Liveaboard holiday out of Sharm el Sheik. At the same time I would like to complete my Advanced Open Water. Can anyone tell me whether or not this is easy to do on the Liveaboard boats or do I need to have finished it before I arrive?

 I think you can. I was on the Juliet from Sharm a couple of years ago and the dive guide spent a lot of time trying to persuade the only 2 Open Water Divers on the boat to upgrade to Advanced (all the other passengers were instructors!). They didn't do it in the end but were given the opportunity. I'm not sure how it would have worked because I thought our guide was only a Divemaster and you have to be an Instructor to run the courses but I may be wrong - she may have been an Instructor.
