The Tourism Minister has told reporters that although Egypt saw a drop of 2% in tourism in 2009 there are already signs of recovery for 2010. The Egyptian economy is dependent upon tourism which accounts for around 12.6% of jobs in the country.
They expect to attract 14million tourists this year compared to 12.5million visitors in 2009. The Minister warned, however, that conditions will remain tough for many in the industry despite this significant expansion.
